RACHEL COX

About Rachel

Rachel Cox lives and works in Iowa City, IA, United States. She has exhibited her work in the U.S. and abroad having recently been included in exhibitions at The Dubuque Museum of Art, The Houston Center for Photography, The Philadelphia Photo Arts Center, The Belfast International Photography Festival, Photo London, Format Photography Festival, Museo Amparo (Foto Mexico), GETXCO Photography Festival, The Musee del’Elysee in Switzerland, and Baijia Art Museum in Nanjing, China. Cox was selected as a 2020 Iowa Artist and will have a solo exhibition of her project Mors Scena at the Des Moines Art Center October 2020.

Cox’s work can be seen in the collections of The University of North Texas Libraries Special Collection, The Museum of Contemporary Photography, The Musee de l’Elysee, Lausanne, Switzerland, and in the libraries at the Amon Carter Museum of Art, The Houston Center for Photography, Pier 24, School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and the Maryland Institute of Art.

Cox’s work has recently been published in GUP Magazine, TIME, Vice Magazine, The Guardian, The Huffington Post, and The British Journal of Photography.

Cox received her MFA from The University of New Mexico and is an Assistant Professor of Photography at The University of Iowa.
