Dana Frankfort’s paintings engage the history of abstract painting and feature bright colors, gestural brushwork, and text. She earned a BA in the History of Art from Brandeis University and an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Yale University School of Art. She attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and was a Core Fellow at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas. She received a Guggenhiem Fellowship in Painting in 2006. Frankfort’s work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions internationally. She currently lives in Houston, Texas where she is an Assistant Professor of Painting at the University of Houston.
